Applications for the European Social Innovation Competition must be submitted by next Tuesday, 17 May at 5pm CET.
Backed by the European Innovation Council (EIC), the competition “recognises social innovation projects that shape the local innovation ecosystem and promote game-changing innovation”, the EIC website states.
“The European Social Innovation Competition has been supporting for over a decade the potential of social innovation projects, encouraging a crosscutting innovation and creating an environment for social entrepreneurs and leaders of change,” said Mariya Gabriel, Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth.
This year’s challenge centres on themes associated to the future of living, and innovation for affordable and sustainable housing districts. Themes that speak to the vision of the New European Bauhaus movement, which wants to design ways of living that align with the goals of the European Green Deal.
The prize features three awards of €50,000 each for the ‘best socially innovative projects designed to change the world for the better’ and is open to social innovators from EU Member States and countries associated to Horizon Europe.
Enter by 17 May at 5pm CET.
