From inside the negotiating rooms and side events at COP27, and from speaking with the activists and leaders involved, there is a growing belief that we are now moving from the ‘getting it’ stage to the scaling actions stage.

What is really quite hopeful is that COP looks a little different this time around; the voice of young people appears to be more integral to the negotiations, and there is a new focus and understanding that the way we we manage global food systems will go a long way to deciding the fate of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Together with Paula Maultasch, the creative executive producer of the Inside Ideas podcast, on #ACopHalfFull tour of COP27 we are hearing people talk with confidence about the future.

One of those sounding some notes of optimism is Celeste Righi Ricco, co-founder of Change for Planet, and one of the amazing young leaders who is seeing real hope for a “better future” because of a generation “with a lot of ideas and passionate intention” that is now becoming “more and more” involved in key decision making at events like COP27.
