Coldplay will hop between dates on its new Music Of The Spheres World Tour on planes that run on cooking oil.
It is the latest move by a band which continues to hit the high notes when it comes to touring sustainably.
Making it possible is Neste, and its Neste MY Sustainable Aviation Fuel, which is produced from 100% renewable raw materials, cutting emissions by up to 80%.
“Coldplay is one of the world’s most popular touring bands, and its ambition to make the Music Of The Spheres World Tour as sustainable as possible is extremely inspiring. The world needs these kinds of changemakers to lead the way towards a more sustainable future,“ says Minna Aila, member of the Neste Executive Committee at Neste.
The trucks transporting the band’s equipment will also be greener as they will be filled on Neste MY Renewable Diesel . It will support Coldplay’s overall goal to reduced CO2 emissions from the Music Of The Spheres World Tour by 50%.
“We’re really happy to partner with Neste to make our Music Of The Spheres World Tour as sustainable as possible. Their low-emission renewable fuels will play a major part in our efforts to minimise the tour’s climate impact,“ Coldplay says.
