Living cities that burst with nature and seamlessly connect communities to the environment and each other are the future for urban spaces.
Already sprouting up in Japan, in Singapore, and around the globe, there are cities visibly transforming to become more liveable and more at one with nature.
In Europe the New European Bauhaus is a ‘creative and interdisciplinary initiative that connects the European Green Deal to living spaces and experiences’. And the New European Bauhaus Prizes 2023 are all about supporting the creative visions and ideas that can link ‘sustainability, aesthetics and inclusiveness’ the trio of complementary values that underpin this new mission to design with people and planet in mind.
Up to €30,000 in prize money is on offer and will be awarded in four thematic areas: Reconnecting with nature; Regaining a sense of belonging; Prioritising the places and people that need it the most; The need for long-term, life-cycle thinking in the industrial ecosystem.
